When I first imagined Episode 50, I thought I'd be celebrating a milestone.

Instead, I found myself writing about something completely different.

Somewhere along the journey of creating this podcast, something unexpected happened... while I was busy making it, it was quietly changing me too.

In this teaser, I'm giving you a glimpse of next week's conversation about identity, curiosity, imposter syndrome, the episodes I almost didn't publish, why I think "finding yourself" is complete and utter bullsh*t... and how some of the biggest changes in our lives happen so gradually that we don't notice them until we're looking in the rearview mirror.

Pull up a chair with me on Monday for Episode 50: I Thought I Was Just Starting a Podcast...

Because sometimes the most meaningful journeys aren't just about what we create...

They're about who we become along the way.

So... Months ago when I thought about an episode 50… I thought I’d be talking about how excited I am to be reaching episode 50…

You know… Maybe thank everyone who's been listening... Talk a little bit about what it’s like to launch a podcast and how much work I didn’t realize it was going to be…

Talk a little bit about what I’m planning so far for Season Two...

You know, kind of normal milestone kind of stuff.

But over the past few weeks as episode 50 was getting closer... I realized something.

It being episode 50 is really only part of the conversation. And even making a podcast is only part of the conversation.

The more I thought about this whole last year and a half… from really preparing to launch – instead of just “thinking about” starting… to what I’ve learned during the process… to the unexpected turns its taken from what I originally thought I would be talking about…

The more I realized that the journey has actually been much more about something that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough.

And that’s how… we can quietly become someone different while we're in the process of doing something else.

It’s kind of weird how…

Maybe you've spent years raising kids...

Building a business...

Volunteering...

Learning a new skill...

Taking care of someone you love...

Or simply trying to rebuild your life after something you never asked to go through.

Then one day you stop and realize…

Almost by accident...

That you don’t really feel like you’re quite the same person you were before.

And not because you woke up one morning thinking, “Wow. Look at the new improved me. I’m different… I’m better… I’m “transformed”.

There was no profound, life-changing moment.

No certificate arrived in the mail congratulating you on completing the next level of the “New You Self-Improvement Program”.

But somewhere along the way… on the journey… while you weren’t paying attention… What you’re doing quietly changed you.

And that realization hit while I was writing episode 50.

Because what I thought I was getting ready to write, was a reflection on what it's been like to create a podcast.

That isn’t what unfolded.

Instead... it became an exploration of how making a podcast has changed me… what I learned – and who I became – while I was busy just doing it.

And the funny thing is... All of that had way less to do with podcasting than I expected.

So we’re going to be talking a little bit more about imposter syndrome...

A new dweller up in my attic, will be making an appearance – or maybe just announcing it’s presence…

We’ll talk about episodes I almost didn't publish...

Why I think the currently trend of "finding yourself" is complete and utter bullshit...

(small laugh)

And I’m fully aware that that line might catch me some flack. (lol)

But we're also going to talk about curiosity... Identity... Grief... Growth...

And why I think some of the biggest metaphorical personal make-overs in our lives happen so gradually... and so quietly…

...that we don't even notice them until we’re looking in the rearview mirror.

So if you want to explore with me what can happen when you suddenly realize…

"I'm not who I used to be..."

I think you're going to enjoy next week’s conversation.

Episode 50 launches Monday.

And I can't wait to pull up a chair with you.

Until then... remember.

It doesn’t matter if you fall… what matters is how well you bounce.

Cuz it’s just part of our Transformative Journeys.

I’ll see you right back here on Monday.
